While we conducted many small scale test flights, the competition was moved online and did not have a chance to launch our full scale rocket. We will also begin building our next generation hybrid rocket motor to fly in future Spaceport America Cups.ĭuring the 2020-2021 school year, the team spent most of its time developing a rocket to fly to 10,000 ft on a commercial motor. The 2021-2022 school year is going to be heavily focused on building and flying our 10,000 ft altitude rocket for the 2022 Spaceport America Cup. Even with this failure, TerpRockets placed 44th of the 100 teams competing. The rocket was recovered in one piece but with significant damage. TerpRockets competes in the 2022 Spaceport America Cup! Unfortunately, a faulty commercial flight computer caused an early separation. These capabilities will also allow the team to pursue much larger and more advanced projects in the future. We will be working closely with our mentors at the Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association in the design and development of these motors. We plan to design, mix, test, and fly our own N class solid rocket motor for the competition. Each time you complete a Research Breakthrough this month, you'll earn an encounter with the Grass/Steel Pokemon Ferroseed.Over the 2022-2023 school year, the Terrapin Rocket Team will be returning to the Spaceport America Cup in a new category, 10k SRAD. The Gen 5 Legendary Thundurus is also available in Raid Battles, and there's a new set of Field Research tasks. Before that, Niantic will hold March's Community Day, which will feature the Psychic-type Pokemon Abra. The Psychic Spectacular returns starting March 27.
